Roscommon Volunteer Achievement Award: “26 for 26”
Roscommon Volunteer Centre was proud to launch the Roscommon Volunteer Achievement Award in May 2026, celebrating the dedication and community spirit of volunteers across County Roscommon.
As part of the initiative, volunteers are encouraged to take part in the “26 for 26” campaign by completing 26 hours of volunteering during 2026 in recognition of the International Year of the Volunteer.
Volunteers can track their hours using the new achievement booklet and work towards milestones of 26, 50, or 100 hours. Certificates of achievement will be awarded upon completion of each milestone, and volunteers will also be recognised at a special celebration event taking place at the end of the year or in early 2027.
Hard copies of the booklet, including a Ukrainian-language version, are available from our office, and the booklet can also be viewed online in any language using the google chrome browser translation tool.

This initiative is open to anyone who wishes to take part, regardless of the type or number of hours they volunteer. Its aim is to encourage, recognise, and celebrate volunteering of all kinds across County Roscommon, including the many volunteers whose valuable contributions may not always receive public recognition.
By taking part, volunteers can track their hours, work towards personal milestones, and receive certificates of achievement in recognition of their commitment and contribution to their communities.
Yes, so long as the hours have been gained within the last 12 months.
We would encourage volunteers to strive to complete their 26 hours in 2026 or at least in the a 12 month period. For those aiming for the 50 or 100 hours, we would encourage you to complete it within 12 months.
Yes, you can complete the hours with more than one organisation. If you are recording your hours online, just mention in the details box under the hours you submit, the name of the organisation you volunteered with. In the hardcopy version, there is space to input details for two organisations. If you need more space, just contact us and we can accommodate that.
No the award is completely free to complete, whether you are submitting your hours online, or receiving your complimentary booklet(s) from Roscommon Volunteer Centre.
