- We can help you further develop your programme with the support of volunteers.
- We can help you review current procedures and policies relating to working with volunteers.
- We can help you track your volunteer’s hours so that it is counted nationally.
- We can provide guidance on screening volunteers, establishing good volunteering practice, help clarify expenses associated with volunteering … and much more!

New Pilot Initiative Launched!
The Community Volunteers is a new pilot programme that offers a new way to bridge the gap between communities that need support and the people who want to help. It gives people the opportunity to get involved in local events and festivals while also supporting more urgent needs that arise unexpectedly, like the community response to COVID-19.
The programme will help organisations respond effectively to needs in our communities by allowing them to engage enthusiastic, local Community Volunteers through their local Volunteer Centres who have raised their hand to say they want to get involved and help.
Roscommon Volunteer Centre are now looking to partner up with organisations looking for volunteers to support their events!

A Snapshot of Volunteer Involving Organisations in Roscommon
Roscommon Town Team is an all volunteer-led organisation that is comprised of representatives from local community groups. Sarah Browne speaks about the projects they’ve undertaken and the benefits it has had on the local community.
Nora Fahy, Project Co-ordinator at Roscommon Women’s Network, speaks about how their organisation involves volunteers in an array of social enterprise initiatives that build self-esteem and confidence in participants whilst also supporting the organisation’s sustainability.
Bernard Kearney, Chairperson of Kilbride Community Centre and Ros FM, talks about how ideas to improve one’s community can have simple and humble origins. With a few key conversations and some dedicated volunteers, these ideas can become reality.
The Elphin Windmill, with its iconic thatched roof, is a technological marvel that served as a centre of industry in Elphin Town. After it fell into ruin, its restoration was overseen by volunteers who came together to advocate for this heritage site.
Monica Gaffney speaks about how The Melting Pot promotes positive mental health and inclusion through volunteerism. They run a variety of initiatives to support the community including opportunities to gain work experience.
Vita House, located in Roscommon Town, is an umbrella organisation that houses several mental health and well-being services. We hear from one of those services, Jacinta’s Smile, about how they support children bereaved from the death of a sibling.
