Ramadan Intercultural Evening
A big thank you to the wonderful residents of Ballaghaderreen for hosting us and several other organisations to celebrate Iftar, the breaking of the fast, together on March 19 2024.
The evening wasn’t just about delicious food; it also included an enlightening presentation about the significance of Ramadan and what it means to those who observe it. The open atmosphere encouraged questions, creating a space for learning and understanding that was truly heartwarming.

Ramadan holds deep meaning for millions worldwide, emphasizing self-discipline, devotion, and a stronger connection with Allah. Beyond fasting, it’s a time for mindfulness, community unity, and giving back to others. It’s a beautiful period of empathy and compassion, where unity is celebrated and hearts are opened.
None of this would’ve been possible without the incredible dedication of volunteers! From designing invitations to cooking, decorating, and welcoming guests, their hard work made the event memorable.
A special shoutout to photographer Anton Nikolenko for beautifully capturing the evening. Be sure to check out his work on Instagram @anton.nikolenko.95
