Meet the Team
Aine Egan started in the role of Manager of RVC in December 2024. She will be building on the fantastic work that has been done by Shannette, the team and the board of management over the past four years.
After completing an M.SC in Rural Development in UCD, she worked for LEADER and Local Partnership companies in Galway and Mayo. Her volunteering experience includes befriending support for adults with disabilities both in Ireland and India and volunteering in environmental and arts projects. These experiences have been some of the most rewarding of her career. She completed a Diploma in Psychotherapy in 2009 and is accredited with the Irish Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists since 2014.
She has a deep belief in the cohesive power of volunteering as a pathway to developing skills, knowledge, personal growth and enriching the lives of all those involved.

Charlotte O’Toole is the part-time Volunteer Engagement Officer at Roscommon Volunteer Centre. She supports the recruitment and engagement of volunteers and provides a matching service for community groups and non-profit organisations that value volunteers as essential to their mission.
Charlotte’s background includes the foundation of the charity Jacinta’s Smile, a sibling bereavement support organisation in 2016. She brings vital experience in volunteer management and event coordination, giving her a compassionate and community-focused approach to engaging volunteers and building meaningful partnerships.
Charlotte is dedicated to ensuring all volunteers and community groups receive the guidance and support they need to thrive. She is committed to inclusion, and helping people feel valued in every contribution.

Katie Kelly joined the Roscommon Volunteer Centre in August 2025 as the Engagement and Events Officer. She is looking forward to working with volunteers, organisations and the wider community to build on the fantastic progress already achieved by RVC.
She has volunteering experience with the Canadian Red Cross as well as with charities supporting people experiencing homelessness. These experiences have strengthened her passion for community development and volunteer empowerment.
Her work will focus on enhancing volunteer engagement, supporting event coordination, and celebrating the vital contribution that volunteers make across Roscommon.
She believes strongly in the power of volunteering to connect people, build resilience, and create opportunities for growth and positive change in our communities.

Board Members
A member of the founding board of Roscommon Volunteer Centre, Angela runs her own tourism business. She holds a BA in Training & Education from NUIG and a Postgraduate Certificate in Creativity and Culture from Trinity College. With a long history in Aviation Security, Angela has worked as a Senior Manager in AvSec Training & Development, as a National Aviation Security Auditor and as a Cargo Auditor for the European Commission. She has lectured at ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation) and SETU (South East Technical University) formerly Carlow Institute of Technology, in Auditor Training and Aviation Security Instructor training. She has volunteered for a variety of charities over the years including Roscommon Support Group, APFS Drivers for Romania, and DAA’s ‘Charity of the Year’ of which she was a founding member. Since its foundation this program has raised almost €4.2 million for a variety of Irish charities.
Mary joined the RVC Board in 2020 and runs a business working with organisations on the Charities Governance Code. Mary holds a BA in Human Resource Management from University of Limerick which extends to various sectors including intellectual disability. She has volunteered in Tanzania and held the position of President of Network Ireland Roscommon in a voluntary capacity. She supports advancing volunteering as a way to connect and support one another. Mary’s enjoys reading, nature, and designing and delivering growth mindset workshops.
Ivor joined the RVC board in November 2023. Ivor works as a risk advisor in the insurance sector and is a chartered engineer with post graduate qualifications in Corporate Governance, internal audit, risk and compliance. Ivor is involved locally in Tidy Towns and has a keen interest in the environment, sustainability, and volunteering.
Marcin is Polish by birth and Irish by choice. He came to Ireland in 2008 and settled in the Midlands. He brings extensive experience in senior management of marketing, sales and customer care operations. He holds an MBA in International Business and is heavily involved in integrating the Polish community into Irish society.
Governor Anthony Shally is a dedicated public servant with 23 years of experience in the Irish Prison Service (IPS). He demonstrates strong leadership, financial accountability, and strategic vision in managing complex prison environments. With a background in operational management, staff development, and community engagement, Anthony has overseen significant achievements in infrastructure enhancements, technology implementation, and contingency planning. His holds a degree in Engineering and a Master’s in Business Leadership, along with various diplomas in leadership, strategy, organisational change and health & safety from reputable institutions.
