Celebrating Community Spirit at Roscommon Pride
Volunteers at Roscommon Pride

This year’s Roscommon Pride was a vibrant celebration of love, inclusion, and community and our amazing volunteers were right at the heart of it all.

From stewarding the colourful parade to offering support in the sensory tent, our volunteers contributed to making the day smooth, safe, and welcoming for everyone. The atmosphere was electric, with smiles all around as the parade made its way through the town, leading into an afternoon full of celebration in Loughnaneane Park.

Volunteers were also lucky enough to catch some of the fantastic entertainment, with one of the standout highlights being a powerful and heartfelt performance from the talented Roscommon Men’s Choir. Their voices filled the park and left a lasting impression on all who gathered. We loved the singalong with Euphoric, all local musicians lead by Will Keane.

It was a day full of pride, joy, and togetherness and our volunteers couldn’t be prouder to have been a part of it. We’re already looking forward to what the Roscommon Pride Committee has planned for next year.

Why Volunteering Might Be Just What You Need

Do you have some free time on your hands? Looking for something meaningful to do? We’d love to hear from you!

At Roscommon Volunteer Centre, we have a range of volunteering opportunities for people of all ages and interests. Whether you enjoy working with others, being hands-on, or simply want to try something new, there’s something here for you.

Volunteering isn’t just about giving your time; it’s about gaining something valuable in return. You’ll meet new people from your local community, make friends, and expand your social circle. You’ll also have the chance to build confidence, pick up new skills, and strengthen ones you already have.

It’s a great way to explore different interests, improve communication, and maybe even discover a new passion. Volunteering can push you gently out of your comfort zone in the best way and help you grow personally and professionally.

Most importantly, it’s fun. Volunteering should never feel like a chore. It’s about enjoying what you do while making a difference.

If you’re curious, get in touch. We’d love to chat about how you can get involved.
